The results are in… and our top listens belong to KOHH, Drake and wayyy too much K-pop. What do your listening habits look like?
It comes as no surprise that Spotify collects data from its users, from the songs we stream on its platform, our listening habits, and down to what we’re adding to our playlists. And they’re sharing all the info they’ve gathered into one condensed site, ‘2017 Wrapped’ to help listeners relive the songs and artistes they’ve loved the most this 2017.
By simply visiting this site, Spotify users can find out more about their music consumption, which includes everything from the most streamed artistes and songs, to how many minutes you’ve spent listening to musics, to the number of genres you’ve explored. It gets real detailed.
Apart from showcasing your (maybe embarrassing) song history, 2017 Wrapped also provides a short quiz to see how in tune you are with your musical tastes. Are you truly as indie as everyone thinks you are? Or are you a shower singer with an entire playlist dedicated to melancholic KTV songs? You’ll soon find out.
Also, Spotify has created ‘Ones That Got Away’, a highly personalised playlist to help you discover new music which the platform thinks you’ll love but have yet to listen to. These fun customised ‘mixtapes’ were created by identifying and studying a group of ‘Tastemakers’ – super active fans who have a penchant for discovering under the radar music – and aligning their music tastes to other users. The result? A pool of fresh tunes specially customised for your ears only. Alternatively, you could listen to Spotify’s playlist of your top 100 songs – think of it like your very own Billboard top 100 chart.
