It’s that time of the year again to go shopping for the perfect outfit(s) to flaunt during Chinese New Year visitations. If you’re not in the mood to dress like a walking angpao, we’ve listed some alternative CNY outfits that won’t incur the wrath of your elders.
Hey lazy people who still wanna dress up for Halloween, we hear you – here are 8 super easy Halloween costumes you can probably pull off with whatever’s already in your closet (or your friends’).
#1 Off-duty K-pop Idol
The standard off-duty K-celeb look is more specific than you’d think. Usually treading a fine line between shady dude and undercover K-star, the A-listers don slouchy, shapeless clothing, a black cap, shades and a mask, just to avoid unwanted attention. But they’re really fooling nobody.
#2 Jessica Jones
Hard-hitting private investigator with a dark secret and special skills – Jessica Jones has gotta be one of our favourites of the Marvel’s Defenders. It’s easy to cop her style too: Jessica’s always out and about in tattered jeans, hardy boots and a badass leather jacket. The YouTube makeup tutorial goes for her natural look, but a few bloody bruises will really set off the look. Plus, the girls even teach you how to look like Jessica’s best friend Trish, perfect for Halloween BFF costumes.
#3 Charlie Brown
This beloved comic book character’s outfit consists of a yellow polo tee with a jagged black stripe across it (easily done with black fabric paint), black berms, yellow socks and brown shoes. And Charlie Brown’s a pretty unisex costume if you ask us, so girls, do try your hand at recreating this look.
#4 Miranda Sings
Now this is a look that’ll stand out fo’ sure: Miranda Sings aka the baddest kween on the Internet. Colleen Ballinger herself explains how to get Miranda’s signature look. TL;DR it’s more than slapping on some red lippie. It’s crucial to get Miranda’s entire persona down pat. BTW, Miranda’s our November cover girl. Go get yourself a copy, right now.
#5 Luke Cage
Channelling this bulletproof meta-human doesn’t require any super skills at all. Simply a huge oversized hoodie or tight dark coloured round neck T-shirt, and a few rips here and there to mimic bullet holes. So done.
#6 Wednesday Addams
We highly suspect you won’t be the only Wednesday Addams in the mix, but that’s a small price to pay for a completely dope outfit. Slip on your LBD, a perma-frown and braid your hair. Voila!
Designer gear, lip kits and booty for days… Who says you need all that to pull off Kylie Jenner’s look? We’d prefer you to sport (haha) Kylie’s athleisure outfits instead, baggy sweatpants and all.
#8 PPAP Guy aka Piko-taro
Okay we lied, you probably don’t have PPAP dude’s outfit in your wardrobe (we hope), but we’re guessing you can raid your grandparents’ (or even parents’) closets for equally stylish threads. You could even make up your own version of that annoying-as-heck tune. We’ll leave you that video so you can perfect your routine. Backs away slowly*

In lieu of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, set to be released this December, Superga has collaborated with the Star Wars franchise to create a range of shoes inspired by 4 polarising characters – Stormtrooper, C-3PO, R2D2 and Darth Vader! All 4 models will retail at S$129.90.
All 4 pairs boast a poly synthetic leather upper with inner cotton lining and embossed stamping of the franchise brand Star Wars across either side. 3D printing has been employed to achieve a three-dimensional effect of the characters – a subtle, luxurious homage to the cult franchise.
Which pair do you have your eyes on?
The collection will be launched on the 10th of November 2016 at Superga retail stores located at Wheelock Place #B2-04, VivoCity #02-73/75, Tangs at Tang Plaza, Tangs at VivoCity and online.
What does Games of Thrones and Singapore have in common? Other than Singaporean-British actress Jessica Henwick starring as Nymeria in season 5. Apparently Maisie Williams loves our homegrown brand Charles & Keith! So much that she carried the brand to not just the Emmys but also to the BAFTAs as well!
Maisie carrying the Evening Wrislet ($39.90) in Black for the Emmys red carpet and Bronze for the BAFTA tea party, which both colours are totally sold out right now. Psst.. Burgundy is still available!
She also carried a Charles & Keith Prism Minaudiere ($89.90) for the post Emmys reception, which is sold out at press time as well.
