#TeenageOOTD - Something Sheer

16 Jun 2015 by Teenage

This week, the Teenage team takes on chiffon for a layered sheer look – perfect for the brutal weather we’ve been getting these days.

This bralet is normally too revealing to wear on its own, so layering a sheer top over it is great for making the outfit more modest looking. I love how the top isn’t too sheer so it’s perfect for hot weather.

The weather can be super unforgiving these days so I opted for this light outerwear to go with my comfy dress. I like how the heather grey brings out the otherwise boring outfit and I accessorised with a thick chained necklace to add that extra oomph.

Although I love these ultra-comfy faux-leather shorts, it can look a tad bottom-heavy because of its puffy shape. Pairing it with a sheer white top balances it out nicely, plus the gold embellishing adds an edge to an otherwise too casual outfit.

There isn’t anything that doesn’t go well with a sheer white button-down, and unsurprisingly, fitting it into a pair of jeans works just as well. Centering the look around two of the wardrobe’s big guns, I then reached for a pair of white platform oxfords for a sporty vibe, and a gold-toned triangle necklace to add a geometric pop to the outfit – chic yet effortless!

#TeenageOOTD - Stripes

3 Jun 2015 by Teenage

This is my go-to lazy dress when I’m running out of ideas of what to wear. To avoid looking too sluggish, I wore it with my favourite neoprene jacket, pearl necklace and topped it off with a felt fedora. Casual yet not too dull at the same time!

Evenly vertical stripes aren’t that flattering on my form, so I like how these stripes alternate in width for a better visual fit. I paired the top with ripped light-wash jeans to mellow out the strong (IMO) print, and added in obviously colour-coordinated bag and shoes to smoothen out the entire look.

I’m always on the go so I need to be comfy but still presentable. I’m also slim and petite so I went with horizontal stripes to give the illusion that I’m a bit wider and finished the whole look with a pair of wedges.

Stripes are definitely my favourite type of print and I love how this striped top complements almost everything in my closet!  I chose to pair it with a quirky patterned skirt that adds a lil’ bit more character to my outfit, and rounded it off with black sandals in keeping with my overall theme of black and white.

We love Charlyn’s take on stripes and how she managed to keep it casual with a pair of ankle boots. Keep those #OOTDs coming!

#TeenageOOTD - Denim

26 May 2015 by Teenage

Denim started out as utilitarian wear but let the Teenage team give you an idea of how you can put a fashionable spin on these blues (and black actually).

As the resident ninja (#AllBlackEverything for the win) in the office, it comes as no surprise when my choice of denim is also black. Gotta love Topshop for making their Leigh jeans super stretchy so it’s comfortable to wear even though it looks tight.

I’ve been a fan of double denim outfits since I-can’t-remember-when and when I spotted this co-ord at ASOS, I knew I had to get it. No matter if you’re dressing up with a pair of heels or dressing down with gladiator sandals, double denim makes everything look so effortlessly chic.

Honestly, this denim coat has been a love/hate purchase – I love that it isn’t too typical, but I hate that this piece is so hard to style because of it’s heavy material and slouchy lack of structure. Thus, I decided to throw it over a simple tank dress and stretch my proportions (because it’s at an dangerously unflattering length for my height) with a pair of wedged boots. One thing’s for sure though: this coat’s not coming out of my closet till cooler weather comes.

There’re so many different ways you can style the utilitarian denim button-down, but when you’re running late for school/work (coughs awkwardly), you just want to keep it simple. For a casual yet put-together look, I buttoned my denim shirt all the way to the top, tucked it in my go-to black skater skirt, and cinched the outfit with a pair of neutral booties. Viola!

#SGFW: Street Style

19 May 2015 by Venetia Sng

Singapore Fashion Week might’ve ended last weekend but we are still having a fashion fever. Here are some of the best street style looks from #SGFW.

Velda Tan dressed in DVF, we love the gingham checks!

Going to a show with your bff? Why not dress like fashion twins.

Our local street style photographer, John Tan, looking all dapper.

How cute is that cage bag and we love that pink ensemble as well!

Beatrice Tan looking good in the fringe hem dress!

Guys looking dapper and cute at the same time with matching shoes!

Even Margaret Zhang has graced #SGFW with her electrifying fashion sense (but not before checking out Haji Lane).

Balmain And H&M

18 May 2015 by Venetia Sng

It’s official! Balmain is H&M’s next designer collaboration.

A video posted by H&M (@hm) on

Head designer, Olivier Rousteing, dropped the surprising news on the Billboard Music Awards red carpet. The designer arrived on the red carpet with models Jourdan Dunn and Kendall Jenner in tow, both wearing head-to-toe looks which everyone thought were by the French house. However, Rousteing took the opportunity to announce that the ensembles were actually a first look at Balmain’s upcoming collaboration with H&M.

“I want to talk to my generation: this is my main aim as a designer. H&M allows me the unique possibility of bringing everyone into the world of Balmain, getting a piece of the dream and creating a global #HMBalmaination: a movement of togetherness, fuelled on a hashtag. The collaboration felt extremely natural to me: H&M is a brand that everybody connects to. It calls for unity, and I am all for it.”

Olivier Rousteing

The collection will be available in stores on 5th November 2015. We can’t wait to view the full collection already! Are you as excited as we are? Let us know what you think of Balmain as H&M’s next collaboration!
