Now to 25 September – Yayoi Kusama’s Life is The Heart of a Rainbow 

You should have already heard the buzz about Yayoi Kusama, the globally acclaimed Japanese artist that has captured hearts everywhere with her art pieces. First getting a sneak peek of her work at the National Gallery Singapore’s Children’s Biennale 2017, the Kusama craze continues with her full-fledged Life Is The Heart Of A Rainbow exhibit! Held from now to 3 September at National Gallery Singapore, the blockbuster exhibit showcases 120 artworks over Yayoi Kusama’s prolific career, with her trademark polka dots, infinity mirror rooms and pumpkins taking center stage. It’s pretty rare for an art exhibit in Singapore to garner this much nationwide craze and hype, but we promise it’s totally worth it – prepare to delve into “70 years of artistic obsession”!

Now to 11 June – Doctors Without Borders Film Festival 2017 

Take a break from your typical Hollywood blockbusters and head over to The Projector for an eclectic selection of arthouse flicks as well as local and cult classics. This weekend, the alternative cinema will also be hosting the Doctors Without Borders Film Festival, which will allow the local audience a peek into the intense medical action of Doctors Without Borders through a series of critically acclaimed documentaries. Following the films, there will be post-screening discussions to shed light on what these humanitarian workers face and risk on the front line and the harsh realities of working relentlessly throughout crises.

Teenage Dance Challenge is in its 8th year running and this year’s edition is gearing up to be bigger and better than ever! Think you’ve got what it takes to stomp the competition? Step up with your crew and wow us with your powerful dance moves – it’s time to show everyone what you’ve got. 

Round up your friends and form a group of 3 to 10 members to participate in our biggest dance competition yet! The 8th edition of the annual Teenage Dance Challenge opens the dance floor to two main categories – Rookie and Open – where contestants will battle it out, street dance style. In addition, we are introducing ‘K-pop Dance Cover’, a new category to bring your favorite choreographies to life! 


1. Street Dance
Bring your best hip-hop choreographies, set to the music of English and/or K-pop 

Street Dance (Rookie Category): 13-16 years old
Street Dance (Open Category): 13-25 years old

Group members must have a minimum of 3 members and a maximum of 10 members
Choreographies must be set to English and/or K-pop

2. K-pop Dance Cover
Channel your favourite acts and wow the crowd with your K-pop flair!

In an effort to raise awareness of environmental issues among the youths of today, the annual ‘Youths Celebrate! Sustainability’ event will see innovative games created by students at the forefront. Some examples include “the next nerf gun” where Anglo-Chinese School students created an eco-launcher (made entirely from recycled materials) to shoot targets; and “Sustain-A-City” where Raffles Girls School students created a 3D ring toss game requiring participants to aim the ring at the solution that matches an environmental issue.
