You’ll feel like an Olympic athlete twirling on this expansive rink. Equipped with a 460-seat gallery spanning across two levels, The Rink is touted as Singapore’s first and only Olympic-sized ice skating rink. In numbers, it measures a whopping 1,800 square metres – which makes it the ideal location to host international tournaments for ice sports such as ice hockey, figure skating and ice curling. Don’t be surprised to see skating pros showing off their complex moves and dazzling routines every once in a while!

#2 Skating rink by day, disco by night

If you fancy adding a little more pizzazz to your ice skating experience, head down to The Rink at night – the real fun begins when the sun sets! On Fridays and Saturdays from 9.45pm to 11.45pm, watch as the space transforms into an all-out disco party. Cue in colourful flashing lights and dancefloor-ready tunes as you skate the night away.

#3 Better yet, host your own party here!

Think you know your sneaks? Well, not if you don’t know about the annual Sole Superior sneaker and streetwear convention!

Taking place on 27 and 28 October 2018 at the Pasir Panjang “A” Power Station, the rebranded Street Super Festival (SSF) is set to be the biggest and most spectacular edition to date. Besides getting your hands (or in this case – feet) on dope kicks, this blockbuster extravaganza also features up to 16 showcase brands, 70 individual streetwear vendors, 15 F&B vendors and a smorgasbord of Hypebeast-approved activities sprawled across a whopping 70,000 square feet of raw industrial space.

Here’s what you can expect when you head down to SSF this weekend – limited-edition drops, pop-up stores, sick beats and more!

#1 Make a trip down to the convenience store

Except it’s unlike any other neighbourhood convenience store; it’s a pop-up mini mart that offers a cheeky twist on your local mama shop! Reimagined by the cool folks of Limited Edt, L.E Convenience allows you to purchase coveted footwear in place of bread, eggs and sundries, including hot new launches like the adidas NMD HU Pharrell Williams x Billionaire Boys Club, adidas Dragon Ball Z and adidas Yeezy 700. Super-rare Nike SB sneakers such as the Tiffany, Gucci and Ray Gun are also up for grabs.

#2 DIY your own pair of Timberland mini boots

Timberland DYO Boots Station

At the Timberland DYO Boots Station, attendees can try their hands at designing their own pair of mini boots. Also on showcase is a travelling display of Timberland’s iconic Yellow Boot in 45 special editions and limited releases, including high-profile collaborations with Mastermind, Stussy and more.

#3 Get skate-happy in your finest kicks

Vans Street Superior Festival 2018

Teaming up with craft brewery Pirate Life Beer, VANS has built a full-sized mini skate ramp with the intention of “uniting skate and art on one canvas”. While getting your skate on (bring your boards everybody!), don’t forget to take part in their cash for tricks contests as there are plenty of awesome prizes to be won!

#4 Trade, barter, sell or donate your old sneakers

Street Superior Festival Shoe Donation Drive

SSF isn’t just about splashing big bucks on grail and hype sneakers. For those who want to let go of their collectibles, there’s a Sneaker Trading Pit where you can trade, barter or sell your pre-loved kicks. Or if you wish to contribute to a social cause, you can also choose to donate your shoes at the shoe donation drive organised by Jason Markk x Bystander x Native, which will go towards Nashville-based non-profit social enterprise Soles4Souls.

#5 Chill out with great tunes and even greater food

Vans Street Superior Festival 2018

Thereafter, dance the night away to the hip-hop tunes of .Wav(y) as they bring the house down with an eclectic music lineup championed by sneakerheads and urban culture enthusiasts. No better way to end off the weekend!

Fans of My Little Pony can now dine amongst iconic pony paraphernalia and Equestria-inspired dishes!

From now till 30 December, My Little Pony fans are in for a magical treat at Kumoya. Decked out in colourful imagery of the loveable ponies from the Hasbro franchise, the whimsically-designed My Little Pony cafe is ready to give you and your friends an unforgettable day out. To ensure that you get the full MLP experience, you can take a photo with Rainbow Dash, Twilight Sparkle, Pinkie Pie and Spike at the entrance before saddling up with the rest of the gang. There are also My Little Pony merchandise on display ranging from squishy plushies to adorable accessories, which are all available for purchase.

Aside from the cutesy interior, what can you expect from the food? In yet another amazing collaboration with Little Miss Bento, the My Little Pony-inspired menu offers a variety of Instagrammable mains, desserts and beverages that will leave you spoilt for choice. Here’s a look at what we ordered.

Rainbow Dash Fluffy Clouds Bubblegum Soda with Fluffy Cotton Candy, Twilight Sparkle Sparkling Water Melon Soda with Fluffy Cotton Candy ($12.90 each)

This gorgeous thirst quencher arrived with a fluffy cloud of white cotton candy sitting atop bubblegum and melon syrup. The soda came in a separate plastic bottle for you to pour the soda onto the cotton candy, allowing it to melt into the cup like raindrops. Though it makes for a super IG-worthy photo, it tends to get a little messy when the cotton candy falls apart so we suggest scooping the remaining cotton candy into the cup for a sweeter flavour. All drinks also come with a complimentary My Little Pony coaster that you can take home.

Friendship Meets Love Seafood Curry Rice ($28.90)

As Little Miss Bento’s signature creation, this dish features beetroot-infused Japanese rice doused with curry and compacted into a heart-shape. Although a tad expensive, it makes up for the price with a substantial portion of breaded ebi, calamari, scallop, tempura salmon and potato cake hearts. Plus, you get to bring home a My Little Pony key and coin pouch with every order of this kawaii curry rice!

Twilight Sparkle Soaring Skies Chicken Katsu Burger ($22.90)

Arguably the star dish of the mains, this hearty burger comprises a slab of juicy chicken katsu drizzled with house-made teriyaki sauce and sandwiched between two fluffy buns. And it doesn’t hurt that it comes adorned with a pair of wings and cheese stars to amp up the aesthetic appeal. Don’t forget to enjoy the bite-sized Twilight Sparkle mantou and crunchy curly fries that are served on the side too.

Magical Princesses with Magic Potion Galaxy Cake ($21.90)

If you’re here for the ‘gram, this intergalactic dessert is a must-order. A mango mousse cake sits atop a bucket of dry ice, served on a tray with a beaker of multi-coloured shimmery galaxy glaze that you can pour over the cake – all you have to do is to get your cameras ready to capture the action. It may seem like a hefty sum to pay for a seemingly small piece of cake, but you get the experience of creating your very own galaxy cake (complete with an epic boomerang and a free Twilight Sparkle keyring plush).

Pinkie Pie Pack-a-Punch Strawberry Cake ($17.90)

If you’re a fan of strawberries and all things pink, you’ll love this dessert. Inspired by Pinkie Pie, this pinklicious delight comes packed with an assortment of treats – think strawberry sponge cake, fluffy cotton candy, vanilla soft serve, strawberry cereal crunch and fresh strawberries. Despite our initial assumption that this would probably be too sweet for our liking, we were pleasantly surprised by the subtleness of flavours. Be sure to get those photos taken as soon as the dessert arrives though, ’cause the cotton candy melts real quick.

My Little Pony x Kumoya pop-up cafe is located at 8 Jalan Klapa, Singapore 199320.
