Captain America Just Became A Super Villain

26 May 2016 by Venetia Sng

Guess who just became a villain in the Marvel Universe? Well, technically Steve Rogers’ Captain America didn’t switch sides just like that – he has been a sleeper agent for Hydra all these time! For those who have been rooting for the Captain (except Team Iron Man), is this the biggest plot twist or what?!

In Marvel’s latest release, Captain America: Steve Rogers #1, the series picks up with the newly-restored Steve Rogers, once again Captain America. Just a quick recap if you’ve forgotten or not read the comics, Rogers was a wrinkly old man with no superpowers for the past few years, while Sam Wilson aka The Falcon, took on the Cap’s shield.

So the most trusted hero in the Marvel Universe is actually a sleeper agent for Hydra. If you’re upset, like many others, take comfort that Sam Wilson will not let this go lightly and we look forward to an epic fight between the two in the upcoming issues. And also such plot twists aren’t new in the comic world (remember female Thor?) so who knows what will happen after a story arc or two, there might even be a Hulk version of Captain America (LOL). Anyway, Steve Rogers has got more movies to star in and he won’t be going anywhere for now.

In the mean time, Hail Hydra!
