Star Awards 2016 Show 1 Recap

If you missed the Star Awards Show 1 last night, no frets! Here’s a rundown of who wore what (the good and the bad), who won what and the drama (Rui En apologises)!

The Good

Pan Ling Ling looking divine, Rocket Award winner Julie Tan playing it safe with a classic look, Paige Chua channeling a bit of Ariana Grande, Ya Hui‘s dress is a bit confusing (in a bad way) with so many things going on at the same time and Felicia Chin working the see-through look the best this year.

Jesseca Liu is (IOHO) one of the best dressed last night. Not sure about Pierre Png‘s tie though.

We love what Joanne Peh‘s wearing! Qi Yuwu just looks like her chaperone. #SorryNotSorry

Zoe Tay looking every part the queen in this Valentino number.

We may be a tad bit biased here but Park Hae Jin can do no wrong.

The Bad

Kudos for trying but the severe bangs and that couture piece ain’t working for Rebecca Lim. The lads, Elvin Ng and Desmond Tan, do look dapper in their respective suits though.

Jeanette Aw looks like she’s slowly drowning in her Valentino gown while a colleague commented that Shaun Chen‘s suit is just like a casino dealer’s.

The worst look of the night goes to Social Media Award winner, Carrie Wong. We prefer her short spunky hair to this so much more and the dress just looks like something someone wore to prom 20 years ago.

Oopsy

Red carpet disaster alert! Hong Huifang and GeTai contestant Xiuping were both wearing the (almost) same dress last night! We think that Hong Huifang wore it better though, what do you think?

And The Drama

Rui En, who was involved in a driving accident recently, received the All Time Favourite Award along with actor Qi Yuwu.

She mentioned that she’s unable to answer the media due to the ongoing investigations and apologised over the inconvenience it has caused. She thanked her colleagues and fans for their love and support and ended her speech with a 90-degree bow.
