5 Best Affordable Buffets in Singapore

3 Sep 2015 by Venetia Sng

The September holidays are upon us and if you’re looking for a restaurant to hold gatherings or just a pig-out session with your friends, check out these 5 cheap and good buffets (IMHO) that will fill your tum tum without breaking your wallet.

For the Korean BBQ junkies, Ssikkek Korean BBQ

Price: $22++
Address: 44/46 Tanjong Pagar Road #02-01, Singapore 088465
Reservations: 6220 7119

You may know this place as 2D1N Soju Bang as most people remember the stairs leading up to the restaurant next to 2D1N. Though run by the same people, they are two different restaurants and Ssikkek is located on top of 2D1N. Their variety of meat is average but they make it all up with the quality and price, our favourite has got to be the marinated pork collar! Pair that bbq meat with fresh lettuce, some kimchi and sauce (or garlic), one word YUM!

For the steamboat lover, House of Steamboat

Price: $20
Address: 7 Tan Quee Lan Street, Singapore 188096
Reservations: 6336 2875

Expect the regular ingredients you will expect for a steamboat – seafood, meat, vegetables, fishballs etc. However they do serve a good pot of soup which is (kinda) the most important thing for a steamboat right? It’s a very decent $20 nett for all-you-can-eat steamboat buffet place and there are a lot of hungry people like you, so don’t hope for top notch 5-star services.

For the Japanese cuisine maniac, Kiseki

Kiseki-Buffet

Price: $19.80++ to $34.80++
Address: Orchard Central, #08-01/02/03181 Orchard Road, Singapore 238896
Reservations: 6736 1216

Don’t we all feel the pain of wanting to order a bit of everything whenever we’re at a Japanese restaurant cause everything looks so good? Step into Kiseki and you wouldn’t have to worry about that anymore. They serve a wide array of Japanese cuisine, from sushi and sashimi to yakitori and agemono, you name it and they have it. Plus all that at a very affordable price, we approve.

For the shabu shabu addict, Suki-Ya

Suki-Ya-Shabu-Buffet

Price: $18.90++ to $26.90++
Address: More than 15 outlets islandwide, more information here

We’re huge fans of shabu shabu and the go-to restaurant for cheap and good shabu shabu is Suki-Ya. Opt for miso soup base if you like something more flavourful, if not there’s always the classic shabu shabu soup base. On top of the free flow meat (not a huge fan of the chicken but their pork and beef is good!), we absolutely love their Chicken Cheese Balls! Think meatball oozing with cheesy goodness. But be warned! The cheese balls are well known for the scalding hot cheese that squirts out when you bite into it, we’ve got friends who’ve had serious burns while eating the cheese balls so approach with caution!

For the I-want-a-bit-of-everything, Buffet Town

Price: $24.80++ to $41.80++
Address: Raffles City Shopping Centre, 252 North Bridge Road #B1-44E, Singapore 179103
Reservations: 6837 3793

International buffets are usually pricier due to the huge selection of food, especially the seafood section. But you don’t have to pay an arm and a leg for all that at Buffet Town! From freshly shucked oysters to your favourite local delights, you’d be spoilt for choice.
