All Hallows’ Eve is just around the corner and not that we are complaining but some costume ideas are super overused – anything over sexy, vampire, zombie just to name a few. If you still haven’t gotten your costume yet, it’s not too late! We have 8 easy Halloween costumes you can try out without looking like everyone else this Halloween!
Disgust from Inside Out
Without a doubt, Inside Out is one of our favourite films of 2015. Not only are the characters absolutely adorable, the film has a simple yet impactful storyline. We couldn’t help but sob a little towards the end of the movie. Anyway, if you love Inside Out like we do, why not dress up as Disgust?
Snapchat Filter
If you are an avid user of Snapchat, you will probably have experienced the new animated snapchat filters! The rainbow vomit filter, cute crying filter and monster filter. With some make-up and face paint, you can bring these filters to life in no time!
The Fairly OddParents
Dress up as Cosmo and Wanda from The Fairly OddParents if you want to dress up with a friend!
Get a white shirt, black skinny tie and black pants for Cosmo and a yellow basic tee and black jeans for Wanda! The costumes would not be complete without the green and pink hair! Just grab some wigs and style them to your liking before wearing them. If you want to go all out, go ahead and wear green or pink contact lens!
Now for the props, make the crown using yellow construction paper and attach it to a hairband using thin wires. And for the wand, cut out a star using the same yellow construction paper and stick it to the end of a black straw or stick! Easy peasy.
Pop Art Make-Up
We love Pop Art make-up cause it super easy but doesn’t look like something you just threw on at the last minute! Simply grab a few tubes of face paint and some make-up that you already have and doodle away!
If you are super into details, you can try out this Pop Art nail design.
Thief/Bandit
If you’ve got a black and white striped top lying around for ages, time to make good use of it this Halloween!
All you need is a pair of black jeans, black beanie, black mask, pair of black gloves, black and white striped top and pair of black shoes. If you want a loot bag, get a plain canvas tote bag (or any other old tote bag you don’t use anymore) and draw a dollar sign on it using a black marker! It’s a win-win situation cause you get a prop plus you don’t have to hold on to your belongings all the time.
Wednesday Addams
Wednesday Addams is one of our favourite characters to dress up as during Halloween! It’s a super easy costume and if you’re someone who dresses in black all the time (like Arissa), you basically just need the existing clothes in your wardrobe. A long sleeved black dress with white collar, if you don’t have that you can just wear a white collared top underneath a black dress. Pair it with black socks and black shoes and you have your full outfit.
As for makeup, just use everything black (yes including your lipstick) and you can paint your nails black too if you want. Do we even need to explain the hair? It’s so easy! Center part your hair and braid them on each side. Tadah!
Wind Up Doll
To get this look, simply put on any doll-like dress and attach a DIY wind up key after. All you need is some cardboard, paint/marker, scissors and elastic band/belt. To score extra creepy points, go for the doll make-up look as shown in the video below! Those round blushy cheeks and lines around the mouth really do give us the creeps.
Netflix & Chill
If you’re into the “humourous” type of Halloween costume, this is the perfect one for you. All you need is a Netflix logo on a red t-shirt and carry a bag of ice or fake cubes of ice cause you wouldn’t want to carry a bag of water at the end of the night.
Alternatively, this can be a couple costume! Just make sure you guys stay together the whole night or else others won’t get your outfits.
