EAT: DC Comics Super Heroes Cafe

I’ve never been to any character-themed cafes in Singapore ’cause I’m too lazy to queue for Pokémon Cafe and Hello Kitty Cafe is a tad bit inconvenient – all the way at Changi Airport. But since I’m more of a DC Comic fan (Batman FTW!), I’m heading down to the DC Comic Super Heroes Cafe located at MBS this weekend! Definitely want to try the Batman’s Dark Knight burger ($25.90) with a cup of Poison Ivy Icy Matcha ($9.90). If you want to try other character-themed cafes, check out Teenage’s list of all the character-themed cafes in Singapore!

DC Comics Super Heroes Cafe is located at 2 Bayfront Avenue, The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands #01-03, Singapore 018972

READ: Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children

Miss Peregrines Home for Peculiar Children

If you didn’t know, the film Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children directed by Tim Burton will be on screens this September and I’m planning to get myself acquainted with the best selling original book series before catching it in the theatres. Don’t be put off by the creepy book cover, I’ve read the synopsis and it looks amazing already. Catch the trailer for the movie above and maybe you’d be a convert like me.

WATCH: Apprentice

What comes to mind when I say local films? Most likely the more commercial ones like Jack Neo’s Ah Boys To Men or artsy films like Eric Khoo’s Be With Me. There aren’t many locally made films that is a good balance of both but director Boo Junfeng challenges that with Apprentice. Debuting at Cannes Film Festival, the movie has garnered mostly positive feedback from film critics, having been described as “thematically complex” and “ambitious” in reviews. When it comes to the death penalty, people mainly focus on the convict and what he/she has done, but this movie tells the story from the executioner’s point of view and what the convicts’ families go through. Interesting? Definitely. Apprentice is in cinemas near you! #SupportLocal
