EAT: Blanco Court Fish Soup
Go healthy this weekend with some heart warming fish soup! This is one of the best fish soup around, with the super flavourful soup, generous amount of slice/fried fish and not forgetting the awesome fried egg which goes mighty well when soaked in the soup. The shop is usually very crowded during lunch hour where waiting time can be up to 30 minutes but trust me, it is worth the wait. Don’t forget to order an additional portion of the fried egg ($2) cause I know you’d want more.
Blanco Court Fish Soup is located at Luk Lu Eating House, 341 Beach Road, Singapore 199567
PLAY: Fallout Shelter
If you like post-apocalyptic simulation games and if you’re a fan of the game Fallout, wait no more, download Fallout Shelter now! You are required to build and manage your own Vault as an overseer. Rescue dwellers from the wasteland and assign them to different resource-generating buildings in the vault, using the seven statistics from the SPECIAL set of stats from the other Fallout games. Each dweller’s SPECIAL affects their skill at generating different forms of resources, so there’s a lot of coordination required! Train them, send them out to the wastelands to explore, procreate to increase the population and deal with catastrophic problems like radroach infestations and raider attacks. I’m going to hole up in my cave and play my game now, see you next week!
Fallout Shelter is available for free on the Apple App Store
VISIT: EOY Cosplay Festival 2015
If you’re thinking of heading to Marina Bay this weekend, why not drop by the EOY Cosplay Festival at the Marina Barrage? Catch popular anime characters and comic superheroes at the largest free annual cosplay and youth community event in Singapore. There will be performances, cosplay (duh), illustrations, photography and more! The layman onlooker (like me) will undoubtedly find this a highly fascinating and eye-opening experience.

ATTEND: Triple Jam World Tour 2015
The last time I caught Jam Hsiao onstage was for the Spring Wave Music Festival back in 2014, and boy was it phenomenal. Although it rained then (and I’m thinking it will probably rain during this concert as well), his performance was so awesome that it totally took my mind off getting drenched. FYI, Jam Hsiao’s touted as the ‘Rain God’ because there’s a 60 per cent chance of rain during any of his events – you’d know this if you read our August issue, so go grab it if you haven’t. #LastWarning
Tickets from $98, more ticketing information here
EAT: Sunday Market
The weekend calls for some cafe-hopping – one thing in common about my favourite cafes are a) how accessible it is b) it’s interior (it must be chill and comfy) and c) serve awesome truffle fries. And Sunday Market conveniently fits all three requirements! Located between Kovan and Serangoon, Sunday Market has a certain old-school charm with it’s exposed bricks and woodsy ferns and vines littering the cafe. It’s menu (while not very extensive), contains delicious Asian recreations such as Beef Rendang Toast ($15.90) and Spicy Tom Yum Prawn ($15.90). Other items worth trying are of course the Truffle Fries ($7.90), Fatty Bom Bom ($8.90), and Matcha Latte ($5), perfect for a weekend treat.
Sunday Market is located at 22 Lim Tua Tow Road, Singapore 547772
DIY: Phone Casing
If your phone casing is getting pretty ratchet and you can’t find anything you really like, I’d recommend you do it yourself, like how I’m going to this weekend. All you need are blank casings (you can get cheap ones at *SCAPE) and oil-based paint markers or craft paint (available at local craft stores) if you wanna get fancy.
Tip: seal in your design with sealant spray so that the usual wear-and-tear won’t affect your now-awesome phone case!

WATCH: Attack on Titan
Aside from all the K-dramas that I watch religiously, one little-known fact about me is that I’m also a huge anime fanatic. This weekend, I’m heading down to catch the live action flick for the mega-famous Attack on Titan (Shingeki no Kyojin). Like many of you out there, I absolutely adored the anime adaptation and I certainly have high hopes for the movie. Most of the reviews turned out bad, but hey, let’s not judge till we see it yeah?
EAT: L’ÉCLAIR
If there was to be a dessert apocalypse and I’m forced to consume only one sweet treat for the rest of my life, it’d have to be Éclairs. So I’m beyond stoked to find out that we’re having our first ever Éclair patisserie in town! Founded by two graduates from Le Cordon Bleu Paris, this newly opened cafe brings us a little piece of Paris in 10 innovative flavours, including Salted Caramel, Kaya Pandan and Hazelnut Praline. If a trip to the physical store is too much of a hassle, you can also order ‘em online. Available in boxes of 4, 6 and 10 for both assorted and single flavours.
L’ÉCLAIR is located at 190 Clemenceau Avenue #01-28, Singapore 239924
SIP: Old Hen Coffee Bar
Popped by this hole-in-the-wall cafe during the long Jubilee weekend and the verdict… it definitely warrants a second visit! You may find it hard to get a seat because the place’s super buzzy, but don’t leave without getting your hands on their specialty cold brew – and it’s definitely going onto my Holy Grail list. Brilliantly packaged in an alcoholic bottle (#DrunkOnCaffeine much?), the Creamy White cold brew coffee ($6.50) has just the right amount of sweetness and acidity that makes it perfect for both coffee and non-coffee lovers.
Old Hen Coffee Bar is located at 88 Rangoon Road, Singapore 218374
