EAT: Kanshoku Ramen Bar

I’ve heard so many rave about the Truffle Ramen ($16.90) at Kanshoku, I can’t wait to try it myself this weekend! Served dry with truffle oil and truffle bits, it’s definitely a truffle dish you should try at least once. Another dish I’d definitely order is the Truffle Edamame ($4.90), just to try how the peas would taste like with truffle.

Kenshoku Ramen Bar is located at Orchard Central, 277 Orchard Road #01-06, Singapore 238858.

SHOP: Books Actually

If you’re into vintage items or just a hoarder (like me), then you’d have to check out the BooksActually sale happening this weekend! The back area of the shop displays one of the widest range of vintage items (all in good condition) I’ve seen and the items really brings back memories. From super old school food/drinks tray to cups, typewriters and postcards, I’ll definitely be getting something “new” to decorate my place.

BooksActually is located at 9 Yong Siak St, Singapore 168645.

GO TO: Sentosa FunFest

Sentosa’s beach festival is back! Experience endless fun with larger-than-life inflatables, water based adventures, obstacle courses and more. Or simply hang out at the chill and makan areas, and enjoy the afternoon with delicious food and refreshing beverages. Bubbly foam pool and water slides here I come!

More details here.

SHOP: The Market Hop

The Market Hop

I’m itching for some retail therapy this weekend, and where better to market-hop till you drop than The Market Hop? A joint concept by lifestyle brands APS, DREAM, and The Peak Selections: Gourmet & Travel, this 80,000 sqf marketplace will be dishing out wicked steals and deals from the likes of The Farm Store, Gnome and Bow, and Vinylicious Records, along with scrumptious nosh from Soi55, Compound Coffee Co., The Fabulous Baker Boy and more. And if you’re there from 2pm to 2.45pm at the APS Gallery or 3pm to 3.45pm at DREAM, you might be able to spot our August ’15 cover girl Sonia Chew making a guest appearance!

The Market Hop is happening on 4 and 5 June, from 11am to 7pm at APS Gallery (9 Muthuraman Chetty Roas) and DREAM (456 River Valley Road). Admission is free.

ATTEND: Damien Rice Live in Singapore

Damien Rice Live in Singapore 2016

We missed Damien Rice at the Neon Lights Music Festival a few months ago, and that became one of my biggest regrets because one does not simply skip out on being serenaded by the ballad king. So when I heard that the Irish songsmith is coming back for his debut headline show here (a full-length one, finally!), you bet I’m gonna jump at the chance to see him live. Those who’re also attending the concert, we hope you’ve already stocked up on tissues ’cause it’ll be a huge sobbing fest once he busts out his heart-wrenching tunes of ‘The Blower’s Daughter’, ‘Cannonball’, and more.

Get your tickets to Damien Rice at SISTIC now!

GO TO: PC Show 2016

PC Show 2016 Singapore

Where are all my geeky homies at? The PC Show is already on full force and there’ll be a whole slew of awesome bargains from brands like Canon, Samsung, and ASUS to get our hands on! Not just computers, but you can also find portable printers, cameras, and smartphones at unbelievable prices. EAT: Bubbly Brunch Beats

Bubbly Brunch Beats

I’m definitely not a morning person, especially when it’s the weekend and you just feel like sleeping in – well, until the clock strikes noon and the stomach starts to rumble, that is. For all the other late-risers reading this right now, Bubbly Brunch Beats is where you ought to be at. Come Sunday, the Gallery & Co. gang will be throwing a party where you can have brunch the way you like it. With its unique customisable menu concept, you have the luxury of mixing and matching your favourite brekkie staples (think fluffy pancakes, avocado on toast, and a delicious array of open-faced sandwiches), while DJ Dave Does provides the soundtrack of the night. Sounds like the stuff of brunch dreams to us!

Bubbly Brunch Beats is happening on 5 June 2016, from 3pm to 6pm, at the Gallery & Co. Cafeteria + Outdoor Bar.
