Halloween is happening this weekend and if you’re still out of ideas on what to dress up as, check out these 8 Easy Halloween Costumes we came up with! My favourite will have to be dressing up as Wednesday Addams cause it’s so easy and no one can ever go wrong with this classic get up. We want to see what you’re dressed up as this Halloween, tag us on Instagram @TeenageMagazine and we might just repost your photo!

VISIT: ACM After Dark: Escape from Hell

Not heading down to USS or Clarke Quay for the usual Halloween sesh and tight on budget? For one night only, Asian Civilisations Museum After Dark returns this year with more spooky activities inspired by the Ten Courts of Hell in Chinese mythology. There are free activities such as face painting all night and admission is free too! For more ideas on where you can head to for Halloween this weekend, check out our picks for Alternative Places To Go To For Halloween!

Asian Civilisations Museum is located at 1 Empress Place, Singapore 179555

EAT: Privé at Asian Civilisations Museum

While you’re at ACM, why not drop by the newly opened Privé for something sweet? The desserts there are TO DIE FOR and doesn’t hurt that the prices are affordable too. I’d highly recommend the Lemon Posset ($6) if you want something sour and Salted Caramel & Bittersweet Chocolate Cake ($8) for something chocolatey. I heard that the Sticky Date Pudding ($12) is really good too. However the die-die-must-try items are their milkshakes (there was a long queue for it), I ordered the Pandan Gula Melaka Milkshake ($10) and it was SO GOOD! Totes worth the calories.

Privé is located at Asian Civilisations Museum 1 Empress Place #01-02, Singapore 179555

LISTEN: Take Heart – The Sam Willows

The Sam Willows

Heads up – local favourites The Sam Willows are releasing their debut album Take Heart today! Featuring familiar hits like ‘Take Heart’ and ‘For Love’, the album is full of radio-friendly tracks that’ll be playing throughout my weekend. BTW, watch out for our interview with the band in our December issue!

Take Heart is available on iTunesSpotify, and at all digital music stores and music retailers.

DIY: Halloween makeup

I haven’t decided on my Halloween plans yet, but who can resist an opportunity to slather my face in makeup and spook people at the same time? There’re tons of YouTube tutorials on Halloween makeup, from super hardcore ones like Silent Hill getups to less gory (and more cutesy ones) like Michelle Phan’s take on Sailor Moon, as you can see above. It’s also the time to dig up all the colourful makeup you’ve stashed (but never used), and the perfect opportunity to restock ’em after – it’s a win-win situation!

WEAR: Lazy Oaf x Caspar

Lazy Oaf x Caspar

There’s just something so weird and wonderful about Lazy Oaf’s mishmash of obnoxious prints, playful graphics and abstract art. But this Halloween, the London fashion label is beckoning us to join them on the dark side with their new Lazy Oaf x Caspar womenswear line for AW15. And it’s no ordinary Caspar – it’s Caspar the Friendly Ghost! Inspired by comic strips from the ’50s, this nostalgic collab features monochrome silhouettes punctuated with embellished-felt cameos of our favourite #foreveralone character. Because let’s be real, who doesn’t love this little guy?

Available at ACTUALLY, 277 Orchard road, #03-18 Orchard Gateway, Singapore 238858. Prices range from $18 for socks to $149 for dresses and jumpers.

VISIT: Scary Scary Night at Bugis Street

If Halloween Horror Nights 5 at Universal Studios Singapore is too out-of-reach for you, a friendlier option would be Bugis Street’s very own Scary Scary Night. Who knows, this might just turn out to be more epic than the other mainstream offerings! There’ll be a late night flea market on the first level, where you can take spooky selfies at the photobooth and party to your heart’s content with a DJ spinning tunes till late. The second level is where the real fright night begins: zip through Bugis Street’s bloodcurdling alleys when shutters are down, lights are out, and ghosts are about. Err, BRB while I hide in a corner…

Scary Scary Night at Bugis Street is happening on 30 and 31 October from 10pm to 2am. P/S: If you’re a student, you can get your admission tickets here at just $29!

MAKE: Halloween Healthy Chocolate Mousse

One of the main highlights for Halloween is the endless variety of spooky snacks you can cook up, and amongst the run-of-the-mill themed treats we found off the Internet, YouTuber Niomi Smart‘s Halloween Healthy Chocolate Mousse appeals to me the most. Granted, I’m not the healthiest person on Earth, but these are just too adorable not to attempt. It’s basically coconut chocolate mouse and maple syrup stuffed within a munchkin pumpkin, which makes a super delicious yet guilt-free mini dessert for all you anti-sugar fiends. The full recipe can be found here. Don’t forget to tag us at @TeenageMagazine on Instagram if you happen to try it out!
