Weekend List

29 Jan 2016 by Teenage

We recommend a healthy dose of St Jerome’s Laneway Festival 2016 this weekend, followed by other activities that’ll get you hyped up with the Lunar New Year festivities.

ATTEND: St Jerome’s Laneway Festival Singapore 2016

Laneway Festival Singapore 2016

I had a blast during last year’s St. Jerome’s Laneway Festival, and I’ll bet 2016’s edition will not disappoint. I’m looking forward to catching international acts like CHVRCHES, The 1975, Flume, Grimes and more, as well as exploring the different stalls the festival has to offer. Stay updated on what’s going down by following our Instagram and Twitter feeds on Saturday (30 January)!

St Jerome’s Laneway Festival 2016 will be held on 30 January at The Meadow, Gardens By The Bay. More info here

SHOP: Chinese New Year Clothes

OhvolaPhoto: OhVola

If you haven’t gotten all your clothes prepped for the CNY festivities and you aren’t willing to brave the crowds in order to get ’em, I’d suggest shopping online. You’d be cutting it really close, but you’ll probably be able to your outfits in time if you order by this weekend, and choose express/next-day-deliveries or self-pickup. We have an awesome guide to our favourite local web stores (with info on delivery options), where you’ll definitely find something perfect.

EAT: PastaMania CNY Ravioli Set

PastaMania Ravioli Set

Usher in even more luck this Lunar New Year with PastaMania’s CNY ravioli set ($12.80)! The dish is chockfull of auspicious vibes, even down to its deliciously plump ravioli, which represents ‘fullness of fortune’. There are three scrumptious flavours to choose from, Porcini Mushroom, Salmon, and Ricotta & Spinach, which is making me hungry even just thinking about it.

The CNY ravioli set is only available from 18 Jan to 22 Feb at all PastaMania outlets except Far East Plaza.

SHOP & EAT: Gallery & Co.

Gallery & Co

Gallery & Co

If you’ve read our Weekend List on the first week of Jan, you’d probably have seen my recommendation on the new National Gallery Singapore. But besides being all artsy fartsy, there’s also a dreamy retail cum F&B space called Gallery & Co., where you can get your hands on minimalist designs, nosh on Southeast Asian flavours at the Cafeteria and have a cuppa or two at the Gallery Cafe. Just try not to be carried away with spamming OOTD shots because this entire place is basically an photogenic haven begging to be snapped at every turn. Really.

Gallery & Co. is located at National Gallery Singapore, City Hall Wing, 1 St. Andrew’s Road, #01-05, Singapore 178957.

CNY PREP: In Good Company

In Good Company

In Good Company

Here’s another option for you if you still haven’t done your CNY shopping. IN GOOD COMPANY just launched its latest additions to Capsule 7 and we’re totes lovin’ the vibrant palette that goes beyond reds and pinks. You’ll find loads of chic wearables and colourful accessories that you can mix and match. They’ve also got avant-garde versions of CNY goodies like Bak Kwa Cookies, Black Sesame Cookes and Pineapple Tarts up for sale, courtesy of Cafe Plain Vanilla. Psst… you can also get a set of 6 ombré red packets with every $250 spent at IN GOOD COMPANY’s E-store, ION Orchard, or TANGS.

IN GOOD COMPANY’s flagship store is located at ION Orchard, 2 Orchard Turn, #B1-06, Singapore 238801. Or you can shop online at their E-Store here.

LISTEN: 35xxxv – ONE OK ROCK

Yeah, so I’m well aware that I’m supposed to be preparing myself for Laneway, but part of me is still in a delirious state of withdrawals from ONE OK ROCK’s concert last week (check out: 5 Things That Only Happen At An ONE OK ROCK Concert). It’s seriously the best gig I’ve ever attended in awhile. If you’re a fan of hardcore, heavy-hitting rock, you should totally listen to their latest 35xxxv album because it’s truly a work of art – no exaggeration. For starters, try ‘Mighty Long Fall’, ‘The Way Back’ and ‘Memories’.

ONE OK ROCK’s 35xxxv (Deluxe Edition) is available to stream on Spotify.
